Jeremy Millar

Chief of Staff, ConsenSys and Co-Founder of the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance

Jeremy is a seasoned technology leader, with over 20 years of experience as a technologist, advisor, investor and executive. He has been involved in the core development of two major technologies: Java and Ethereum. At Oracle Corporation in the 90s, Jeremy was one of the first Java architects in the company where he led many of the earliest enterprise Java implementations and went on to establish a variety of strategic initiatives to scale the ecosystem. He then completed his MBA at Oxford University, before joining Goldman Sachs’ Investment Banking team, advising on financings, IPOs and mergers & acquisitions, including notably the Centrica / EDF join venture and investment in British Energy. Jeremy joined ConsenSys, one of the largest independent blockchain technology firms globally, in October 2016 as Chief of Staff, overseeing commercial operations and strategic initiatives. In this role, Jeremy leads ConsenSys efforts as “Blockchain City Advisor” to the Smart Dubai Office, facilitating Dubai’s transformational mandate to record all government documents on blockchain by 2020. Jeremy is the founding board member of the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (the EEA), which aims to standardise the use of Ethereum for enterprise blockchain development. The EEA has grown to over 130 members, including Accenture, Microsoft, Intel, Cisco, JPMorgan, BNY Mellon, Santander, BP, BHP Billiton and many others. He has briefed the European Parliament, the FCA, and the Bank of England (among others) on blockchain technology and applications.
